Obtained a verdict of $8,234,522.00 in Vista Superior Court in January 2009 on behalf of a construction worker who was electrocuted on a job site (Bisby v. Weitzeil, GIN051999).

Settled civil rights cases against the Imperial County Jail on behalf of two young women who were coerced into having sex with guards for $1.25 million in June 2009.  (Fernandez v. Morris, 08cv0601-H; Flores v. Dillon, 08cv1881-W.)

Represented environmental and animal rights activist Rod Coronado in a First Amendment federal criminal case involving terrorism charges in 2007.  After nearly two years of pre-trial motions, tried the case with veteran criminal and civil rights attorney Tony Serra and the jury hung 8 4 in Mr. Coronado’s favor.  The case subsequently settled on very favorable terms for Mr. Coronado.  (United States v. Coronado, 06cr0298-JM.)

In 2004, represented the lead defendant in the largest maritime cocaine seizure case (10 metric tons) in U.S. history.  After an 8 week trial, the jury convicted two defendants and hung as to the remaining 6 (who were acquitted after a re-trial).  (United States v. Ihnatnko, 01cr1652 JM.)
